On March 26, President Donald Trump issued Executive Order 14398, Addressing DEI Discrimination by Federal Contractors, which aims to promote economy and efficiency in federal contracting by preventing racial discrimination.
Specifically, the EO requires executive departments and agencies to include a clause in federal contracts that prohibits federal contractors from engaging in any racially discriminatory DEI activities. The EO also requires federal contractors to furnish all information and reports upon request for purposes of ascertaining compliance with this clause. Implementation of the EO began on April 24.
Jim Paretti will provide an overview of the EO, discuss what it means for federal contractors and offer practical advice to government contractors that are being asked to accept contracts with this new language.
